The Brooklyn Rock 'n' Roll presence dates back to a 10K in 2011, and it became a half marathon in 2015.

There will be no Rock 'n' Roll Marathon events in Brooklyn and St. Louis in 2018, as the series' new owners Ironman continue to tweak the race schedule, a spokesperson confirmed.

Rock 'n' Roll first entered St. Louis in 2010, when it acquired the Lewis & Clark Marathon, which it later cut to a half marathon.

The new owners also have made changes to its international series in Mexico, discontinuing races in Mexico City and Queretaro while adding a half marathon in Oaxaca.

Ironman owner World Triathlon Corp. in June acquired Rock 'n' Roll owner The Competitor Group and later sold off its publishing division. Executives say they intend to continue developing the Rock 'n' Roll brand, particularly overseas.
